What You WANT does not equal what you NEED!

From one week to the next I don't know how I'll be, health wise.

For the last few years now, I've been having some serious health issues, but I still do my best to run events for you even though it takes everything out of me.

Good news though, Day 3 of 4 of my Sumo Day, I have finally been referred to a neurologist to see what the cause of my health problems are after my first seizure in a while.

If you are in my community on Facebook, you'll notice that I've not been active, that's mainly because I've been having some well deserved time off to recover.

It's not because I don't like you, it's because I'm physically not 100%.

I loved seeing all the messages and replies to my email on event week. Thank you to everyone who helped, joined the fun and has engaged with the content.

I've decided to not doing anymore events unless AppSumo are willing to create a team for me to help manage the pre-planning and production and post-promotion.

For 1 person, it's just too much to organize the guests, write promo emails, make sure guests know what they need to do, purchase all the tools, manage production, faciliate the conversation, repurpose the content live and so much more.

It's podcasting LIVE on steroids. Not for the faint hearted.

Gabe stepped in 5 days before the event to help me, but other than that, that's all the major help I had.

Not AppSumo's marketing budget.

Have you felt like you are the only one in the world who can do what you do? As much as I love doing events, they are just too much for me to handle on my own.

The best thing you can do at any stage of your journey is to accept help from other people. Wherever that's community members, family members or close friends.

It's amazing what kind of support you will receive from people who just want to help.

Although, I know you have a lot of ideas, I'd focus on achieving 1 or 2 of them by the end of the month.

A lot of the times, we get carried away and it's normal but the skill is understanding what to prioritize and which decisions are necessary.

I have a bucket full of ideas I'd like to support you with and I know they'll eventually get done but a lot more of them get rejected by me than accepted.

The easiest way to make a decision is to determine if it's a WANT or a NEED.

For me, I want to travel the world and meet people in my community. That is a WANT.

For me, I need to prioritize my health and looking after my existing customer and client base. This is a NEED.

What do you think you want and need, my friend?

Try to focus on what you NEED first because once you achieve them, you'll be able to achieve your WANTs by default.

I know that you WANT to monetize your content/podcast so you can do all the things you WANT to do.

The priority for you is prioritizing all the things you NEED to do, like record, edit and publish your podcast, build your community and support your guests.

The rest will come.

If you are starting from scratch and have 0 published episodes and are expecting to have a podcast live in the next 90 days,

When I got started, I had a Zoom Free account, headphones and terrible laptop camera. I bought SendFox and TidyCal. That's it!

The rest I have acquired over time.

Don't make anymore excuses, draw a line under procrastination and just get it done.

While I know I can't help everyone, I know that if you follow the Podcast Launch Strategy, you can launch your podcast.

It really isn't that difficult.

You are making it difficult.

While I continue to rest up, I just want to let you know that I am rooting for you from the other side of the screen and want to see you have success.

I believe you and it's time you believed in yourself too!

Thanks for being on this journey with me.

Love and peace as always,

Chris Cownden
